Willy Homza of Anchorage delivered three hits and three RBIs in two games, including his first home run of the season, for Brown University in a doubleheader loss to Fairfield in Providence, Rhode Island.
The senior third baseman crushed a two-run bomb in the first inning of a 13-8 loss in Game 2. He went 2-for-4 with an RBI in a 7-6 loss in Game 1.
It was the first home run of the season for the former South Legion Post 4 infielder and third of his career with the NCAA D1 Bears.
He raised his season batting average to .238 in 13 games
More impressive is his team-leading .418 on-base percentage, fueled by 13 walks in 13 games.
Homza has drawn more walks this season than he did last season (12) in 23 fewer games. His career on-base percentage was .325 entering his final year.
