Wasilla’s Nolan Monaghan didn’t allow a run and picked up his first career NCAA D1 winning decision for Austin Peay State University in a 10-2 win over Evansville in Clarksville, Tennessee.

The junior pitcher started the game and carried a no-hitter into the fifth inning before departing because of a pitch count.

He struck out six of the 15 batters he faced in 4.1 innings of work.

The former Wasilla Legion Post 35 pitcher has racked up 14 strikeouts in his last 8.2 innings.

Monaghan is now 1-1 at Austin Peay after going 6-4 in two seasons at Feather River Community College in California. He has 68 collegiate Ks.
