Juneau's Philip Wall scattered nine hits over his seven-inning complete-game effort as the University of Northwestern-St. Paul knocked off the No. 24 NCAA D3 baseball team.
The former Juneau Legion Post 25 right-hander gave up no earned runs, struck out one batter and didn't walk anybody to highlight a 5-1 win over Bethel College in St. Paul, Minnesota.
Wall improved to 3-0 on the season and lowered his ERA to 1.95 in 27.2 innings.
In all three wins, he has pitched all seven innings for the complete game. He owns one shutout and a 12-to-4 strikeout to walk ratio.
Wall also plays the field when he’s not pitching, mostly second base and sometimes right field.
He is batting .250 in 20 at-bats with one RBI and one stolen base.
