North Pole, Eagle River to face off for Midnight Sun title

The North Pole Post 30 Wild have picked a great time to get hot.


The Wild won their first two games of the season on Day 2 of the annual Midnight Sun Invitational tournament at the Arco/Marlin fields in Fairbanks.


North Pole beat Fairbanks Post 11 6-5 and Bartlett Post 29 3-2.


Each of North Pole’s games have been one-run games, including a 1-0 loss to Eagle River on Day 1.


Sunday’s rematch will decide which team will walk away with the Midnight Sun championship.


The Midnight Sun is the first leg in the four-event Alaska Airlines Tournament Tour.


Fairbanks and Bartlett will play in the third-place game.
